As an avid TV enthusiast, I have been blown away by the quality and performance of the Philips 55OLED804. This television is undoubtedly one of the best on the market, and I have no problem giving it a solid four out of five stars.
One feature that really sets the Philips 55OLED804 apart from other TVs is its CI+ CI/CA compatibility. For those who don’t know, CI+ is a technology that allows your TV to communicate with your cable or satellite provider. This means you can enjoy digital channels without the need for a separate receiver box. It’s an incredibly convenient feature that really adds to the overall viewing experience.
Of course, the picture quality is the most critical aspect of any TV, and the Philips 55OLED804 does not disappoint in this area. The OLED screen produces rich, deep blacks and bright, vibrant colors that are truly stunning. The 16:9 aspect ratio is perfect for widescreen movies and TV shows, and the overall design of the TV is sleek and modern.
When compared to other well-known TVs like Samsung’s QLED or LG’s OLED, the Philips 55OLED804 holds its own. While each of these sets has its strengths and weaknesses, I believe the Philips stands out for its overall performance and value for money.
Overall, I highly recommend the Philips 55OLED804 to anyone in the market for a new TV. With its advanced features, superb picture quality, and attractive design, it’s a TV that won’t disappoint.

I recently purchased the Philips 55OLED804 TV in February and I have to say, I’m pretty disappointed with it. As a dealer, I know my way around TVs pretty well, and this one just doesn’t meet my expectations. I would rate it a 2 out of 5.
Firstly, the picture quality is subpar. While the colors are vibrant, the contrast and black levels are lacking when compared to other popular TVs on the market. The image also seems to be quite grainy, even in HD. If you’re someone who is interested in crisply defined visuals, this TV may not be for you.
Additionally, while Ambilight is a unique feature that sets this TV apart, it is not enough to make up for its other shortcomings. In fact, I found it distracting and not well executed. The lights on the back of the TV are supposed to match the colors on the screen, but often they were slightly off or delayed, which took me out of the viewing experience. Maybe it’s just a preference thing, but I found Ambilight to be a bit of a gimmick.
The 16:9 aspect ratio is standard for most TVs, so there’s nothing particularly noteworthy about that. The TV is also equipped with HDR and Dolby Vision, which should enhance the viewing experience, but they just don’t seem to be doing that in this case.
The story behind purchasing this TV is pretty unremarkable. I ordered it online and had it delivered to my home in San Francisco. There were no issues with the delivery, but once I started using it, I immediately realized that it was not up to par with other TVs I have used in the past.
Overall, I’d say that if you’re looking for a TV with excellent image quality and reliable features, you’re better off choosing a different brand.
