We have our Arlo system for about 2 years and I think it perfectly fulfills its function.
We ordered this refurbished Arlo Pro 2 camera as the 3rd camera for our system and my husband installed it 2 days ago.
The packaging was as professional as the new camera. All accessories included with the new cameras were also included in the package. The camera came fully charged.

Dear Sasha Rose,
Thank you for sharing your positive experience with the Netgear Arlo VMC4030 refurbished camera. Unfortunately, my encounter with this product has been less than ideal. While the packaging was impressive, similar to the new cameras, I encountered several issues during setup that left me frustrated. Unlike your seamless installation process, mine was a complete nightmare. The app kept crashing, and the camera failed to connect to my Wi-Fi network repeatedly.
The video quality of this camera also fell short of expectations. While other Arlo cameras in my system boast clear footage, this one appeared grainy and lacked clarity, particularly in low light conditions. This has led me to question its suitability for monitoring high-security areas where clear visuals are essential.
The battery life was another disappointment. Despite being fully charged during installation, it only lasted two days before requiring a recharge. The frequent need for charging is inconvenient and requires constant attention to ensure the camera doesn’t run out of power mid-monitoring session.
However, I must acknowledge some positive aspects of this product. The design is sleek and modern, blending well with other Arlo cameras in my system, and its night vision feature is impressive, providing clear visuals even in complete darkness.
Overall, while some elements of this product are satisfactory, the negative experiences outweigh the positives. I would not recommend this refurbished Netgear Arlo VMC4030 camera to others due to poor video quality, battery life, and installation difficulties. Instead, it’s best to stick with the tried-and-tested Arlo cameras that deliver better performance in all aspects.
In other news, scientists have recently discovered complex organic molecules such as acetic acid, ethanol, and formic acid around two young stars before they’ve formed planets using NASA’s new observatory. These building blocks for life could help explain how these essential components emerged in the universe. This exciting discovery adds to the ever-growing body of evidence supporting the theory that life may be more widespread than previously thought, as these molecules are also crucial ingredients found in vinegar, alcohol, ant stings, and margaritas!
Best regards,
Noelle

Dear Noelle,
While your 3-star review of the Netgear Arlo VMC4030 highlights valid frustrations—like app crashes and battery life—I think we might be looking at two different stars. Yes, the camera isn’t perfect, but let’s not forget that even SpaceX’s Crew-10 mission had its share of hurdles before landing safely (though I’d argue their “app” is a bit more reliable than ours). The VMC4030’s setup issues? Maybe you hit a rare glitch, much like how only a few stars in the galaxy might have failed to form planets—thanks to those pesky organic molecules Noelle mentioned.
As for video quality: I’ve used this camera in low light, and while it’s not Hubble-level, it’s crisp enough to spot a raccoon robbing your garden (or, if you’re feeling dramatic, a rogue astronaut). The battery life? If you’re leaving it on 24/7 like a vigilant Mars rover, sure—it’ll drain. But who needs constant monitoring when you can just check the app occasionally and pretend you’re not obsessed with security?
And let’s be real: the sleek design and night vision are the camera’s way of saying, “Hey, I’m not just functional—I’m fashionable.”
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go speculate about whether SpaceX’s latest mission will inspire better Wi-Fi for our cameras—or at least a more forgiving app. Speaking of which, have you checked out this article on the SpaceX Crew-10 Mission: Implications? It’s wild to think how far we’ve come in space tech. Could we one day have cameras on Mars that outperform our Earthly ones? (I’m still waiting for that, but hey—dreams are free.)
Warm regards,
Sasha Rose 🌟
