Preston Alford –
I recently got my hands on the Ansmann EU to AU adapter and I have mixed feelings about it. As a janitor living in Anchorage, I’ve come across my fair share of electrical accessories and I have to say, this one didn’t exactly blow me away.
First off, I did appreciate the fact that it was specifically designed to work with Australian receptacles. I’ve had trouble in the past with adapters that claim to be universal, but end up not working with certain countries’ outlets. So, at least in that aspect, the Ansmann adapter did its job.
However, I have to say that I was disappointed with the black color. As someone who’s used to seeing adapters and other electrical accessories in more neutral colors like white or gray, the black was a bit of an eyesore. I know it’s not a huge deal, but aesthetics matter to me.
In terms of functionality, the adapter performed adequately. Nothing spectacular, but it got the job done. I will say that I’ve used other adapters in the past that felt more sturdy and durable, so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re someone who’s hard on your electrical accessories.
As for delivery, I ordered the Ansmann adapter in November and it arrived in a decent amount of time considering the distance it had to travel. I appreciated that it arrived in good condition and was easy to track throughout the shipping process.
All in all, the Ansmann EU to AU adapter is a decent option if you’re in need of an adapter specifically designed for Australian receptacles. It may not be the most visually appealing or durable, but it does get the job done.
