1 review for Garmin Forerunner 45S

  1. Gavin Dunn

In general, if you are 4, I do not recommend changing. It is convenient to add side gestures – it makes it easier to access some functions. It’s cool to manually turn on and off alarms from your wristband. Bigger characters are nice – Polish letters, however, are some miniature (tails). Besides, I do not see any more advantages.

A smaller battery. In my opinion, the clasp fits worse than in the 4th. The PAI function is a complete misunderstanding. I will eat your battery for breakfast. This option starts measuring your heart rate every 1 minute. You know what happens then. Overall, it’s not a revolution. Not a step forward, not a step back. I would say a step aside. They improved something, made something worse. The band had a chance to sweep the market, but they probably got along with the competition not to do it and that everyone would get a piece of the cake.

How do I properly pair my Garmin Forerunner 45S with my smartphone using Bluetooth technology?

Pairing your Garmin Forerunner 45S with a compatible smartphone is easy, following these steps:
1. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and in range of your watch. Your device should detect the watch automatically during setup. On your Forerunner 45S, go to Menu > Settings > Connect IQ > Pair Mobile Device. Select your phone from the list of available devices or search for nearby devices. Enter the passcode displayed on the watch (the default is "0000"). Follow the prompts on your smartphone to complete the pairing process. You may need to download the Garmin Connect app, create an account if you don't already have one, and grant permissions for location data and notifications. Once paired, your watch will sync automatically with your phone when they are in range of each other (up to 30 meters). You can also manually initiate a sync by going to Menu > Connectivity > Sync Now on the watch. To unpair the watch from your phone, go to Menu > Settings > Connect IQ > Unpair Mobile Device on the watch, and then follow the on-screen prompts to confirm. This will disconnect all data sharing between your devices.

How do I set up my Forerunner 45S for the first time?

Charge your Forerunner 45S by plugging it into a power source using the provided USB charging cable. The device should turn on automatically when connected to power. Download and install the Garmin Connect app on your smartphone from the App Store or Google Play Store. Create an account within the Garmin Connect app if you don't already have one. Turn on your Forerunner 45S by pressing the power button until you see "Connect device". Hold down the bottom right button on your watch for a few seconds, then release it when prompted to pair with a new device. The watch should now be in pairing mode. On your smartphone, open the Garmin Connect app and select "Add a device" from the main menu. Follow the instructions within the app to search for and connect to your Forerunner 45S. Press and hold the start/stop button on the side of the watch until you see the Garmin logo appear. This will turn on the device. Once the home screen appears, navigate to the "Training" menu by pressing the up or down arrow buttons on the side of the watch. Within the "Training" menu, select "Settings. From there, choose "HR Zones" and then "Manual. Follow the prompts to enter your age, gender, weight, and resting heart rate (the number of beats per minute when you're at complete rest). Based on this information, Garmin will calculate your maximum heart rate and automatically assign zones for you. You can also choose to manually set your own zone percentages if you prefer. Once you have set up your heart rate zones, they will appear in future workouts as a data field, allowing you to monitor your intensity level during your runs or other activities.
