I recently purchased the Philips 65PUS8204 TV in October as an upgrade to my old TV. Overall, I would rate it a 3 out of 5 possible stars based on my experience so far.
One of the positives of this TV is its 4K Ultra HD resolution which delivers crystal-clear and sharp images. The smart TV feature is also a nice addition as it allows me to easily access streaming services like Netflix and Hulu.
However, there are some drawbacks to the Philips 65PUS8204 that have me feeling a bit disappointed. The TV’s operating system is slow and occasionally freezes, and the sound quality is subpar compared to other TVs in its price range. The TV may claim to have HDR10+ but to be honest the range of brightness is extremely low and it rather compresses it to the extreme, making everything very dull and oversaturated.
When comparing the Philips 65PUS8204 to other popular TVs like the Samsung QLED Q70R, I have to say that the Q70R outperforms the Philips in many ways. The Q70R has a better operating system and a higher-quality sound system, in addition to more reliable customer service.
As an order filler, I spend most of my day working in a warehouse. Due to my busy work schedule, I opted for an online purchase with free delivery to my home in Gilbert. The shipping process was relatively smooth and I received the TV in a few days. However, there was a bit of a mix-up during the purchasing process when my old address was still linked to my account causing a slight delay. Overall, my experience with Philips 65PUS8204 has been average with some highs and lows but it is not the best option considering the problems I have experienced.
Lastly, it is important to mention that this TV is not compatible with DVB-C or DVB-T2 but it can receive DVB-S/S2 signal if this is your preferred way of watching the TV. Additionally, the Philips 65PUS8204 TV has a 2.0 HDMI version which is commendable as it allows faster transmission of data over the HDMI cable.
