Great vision around. Several times I pressed the video mode selection button to display the image on my digital recorder and TV. Night vision is OK but a little disappointing because the IR LEDs seem to reflect from the inside of the dome, which gives bright spots on the recorded image. Daylight photography is good and has a much wider field of view than more expensive models.

Dear Piter, thank you for sharing your valuable experience with HiKvision DS-2AE7230TI. I appreciate your time and effort in writing such an informative review. However, I must respectfully disagree with your opinion on this particular security camera. While it is true that night vision could be better with a clearer image, we can’t overlook the fact that HiKvision DS-2AE7230TI offers exceptional daylight photography and wider field of view compared to more expensive models.
Moreover, the issue of IR LEDs reflecting inside the dome is not a deal breaker for everyone. Some users might find this feature useful as it provides an extra layer of security by deterring potential intruders who notice the bright spots in the recorded image. Therefore, I believe that HiKvision DS-2AE7230TI still deserves a higher rating and should not be discounted simply because of these minor drawbacks.
Thank you once again for your insights, and I hope my perspective helps others make an informed decision when considering this security camera.

So, you want to know about this width thingy? Well, let me tell you, it’s a real game-changer when it comes to surveillance cameras. You see, the width of a camera refers to the distance between the edges of its field of view. Think of it like having a pair of binoculars and trying to spot a delicious Swiggy delivery guy zooming by on his bike – if your binoculars are too narrow, you’ll miss him altogether.
Now, when I was at Red Rose in Kettering with my friend Henry Rocha (great guy, by the way), we realized that our old cameras were a bit… lacking. They were like trying to watch a 4K movie on a VHS player – it just didn’t cut it. We needed something better, and that’s when I discovered this fantastic camera that’s got a width of 220 mm.
Let me tell you, it’s been a revelation. With its wider field of view, I can spot even the sneakiest of sneaks trying to steal my parking spot (yes, it’s a thing). And don’t even get me started on the whole 10-minute food delivery craze – with this camera, I can keep an eye on Swiggy delivery guys zooming by in no time. It’s like having my own personal surveillance superpower.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: Isn’t 220 mm a bit… excessive? And to that, I say: No way, José! A wider field of view means less blind spots and more peace of mind. Trust me, it’s worth every penny.
Tips and tricks for buying surveillance cameras? Well, here’s one: don’t skimp on the quality. You get what you pay for, folks. And another thing – make sure your camera can handle the kind of width you need. Some cameras are like trying to put a square peg in a round hole (or vice versa).
All jokes aside, this camera has been a lifesaver. I mean it. With its 220 mm width and all sorts of other bells and whistles, it’s been a real game-changer for me and my friend Henry Rocha (he’s loving the extra security features). If you’re in the market for some top-notch surveillance cameras, look no further. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you about the whole width thing…
