Samsung Gear S3 Frontier smartwatch is the latest offering from the South Korean giant, Samsung. Taking a step ahead from its predecessors, the Gear S3 is a complete package offering everything one could expect from a smartwatch. While the design of the Gear S3 has a slight similarity with the previous models, it has gone through several refinements making it a better version.
Design and Build Quality
The Gear S3 Frontier has a circular dial casing made of metal with a rotating bezel, which not only makes scrolling around the watch easier but also gives it a more traditional look. Samsung has done an excellent job with the overall build quality of the watch. The screen is protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass SR+ glass, making it scratch-resistant, and it has an IP68 dust and water-resistant design, meaning it can survive depths up to 1.5 meters of water.
The Samsung Gear S3 is equipped with a 1.3-inch OLED display, which boasts a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. The screen is bright and clear with vivid colors, making it easy to read even under bright sunlight. The Always-On Display feature lets the user read notifications and time quickly without even turning on the watch, which saves battery life to a great extent.
Samsung has included a 380mAh battery that should last for up to three days on a single charge, which is impressive for a smartwatch. The battery life varies depending on usage and how frequently the user turns on the watch to check notifications.
The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier is equipped with a dual-core 1.0 GHz processor with 768 MB of RAM, which allows for smooth multitasking and running of apps. The watch also has a built-in Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, altimeter, barometer, and an accelerometer.
The Samsung Gear S3 runs on Tizen OS 2.3.2, which is a departure from the usual Android Wear OS that Samsung has used in the past. However, the Tizen OS is fluid and responsive and doesn’t cause any lag or slow down. The Gear S3 also supports third-party apps from Samsung’s App Store, making it more versatile.
The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier comes with extensive fitness features, including a heart rate monitor, GPS, altimeter, and barometer. It can track fitness activities like hiking, running, and cycling with accuracy. The S Health app lets users monitor their progress and set fitness goals.
The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier is an outstanding smartwatch packed with features. It has a solid build quality, an Always-On display feature, and a long battery life that makes it stand out from its competitors. Samsung’s Tizen OS runs smoothly and provides an excellent user experience. Overall, the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier is a perfect blend of style and technology, making it a great choice for users looking for an all-in-one smartwatch.

JAMES BOND –
I have the watch for 4 days, everything works beautifully in it. I read a lot before that many shields for it are paid, it’s true, but many are also free. The paid ones do not cost a fortune either, the average price is $ 1 per one, so there is no tragedy. It subtracts one star from the watch because the battery could last longer. In the reviews on the Internet, you can read that it can last 3 full days. Maybe if it is lying down and we do not use it …;) Used normally, i.e. receiving notifications from the phone (several), heart rate monitor on the car, brightness at 7, sleep monitoring, bluetooth on, sometimes one short conversation per day lasts 2 days . Fortunately, it charges quickly, about 2 hours from zero to max. One of the things that pisses me off a bit that it doesn’t always turn on when we make this movement with the wrist / hand, and sometimes you have to repeat it or press a button to check the time. There is also an always visible screen option, but I do not recommend it, because it is OLED and they burn out when displaying the same content in the same place. Generally, I recommend it, a great toy 🙂
